Tracing Stories Workshop

Tracing Stories: Body, Image, Words

For everybody curious to explore connection, memory, and body-led expression of our inner narratives.

As part of Creativity and Wellbeing Week 2025, this 3-hour in-person workshop supports participants to reconnect with the stories carried in the body — through movement, photography, and free writing.

Facilitated by artists Esther Sabetpour and Vanio Papadelli, it offers a space to explore self-expression through the felt sense. No previous experience in dance, photography, or writing is needed — just a willingness to move gently, reflect honestly, and express intuitively.

Participants:

  • Explore where stories live in the body through guided movement and breath

  • Experiment with self-portraiture using mobile photography and simple materials

  • Use journaling and creative writing to give shape to personal narratives

  • Reflect in community, documenting their experiences through images and words

  • Engage in a safe, nurturing space that honours vulnerability and play

This collaboration brings together over 40 years of combined experience in creative facilitation, offering a rare opportunity to move between disciplines and reconnect through embodied, heart-led expression.

Thank you so much for such an amazing workshop. Id never taken part in either a movement or photography workshop before, so I wasnt sure what to expect – but it turns out to be one of the most joyful and enriching experiences Ive had in a long time.
Over the course of three hours, I feel both challenged and supported, learning new ways to connect with my body and the camera. It
s especially great – and feels really safe – to work so closely with someone Ive never met before. The way the workshop is held makes that connection feel natural, respectful, and creatively rewarding.
As someone new to this kind of practice, I come away with practical tools to build my skills – but more importantly, I leave feeling inspired, energised, and much more confident. Thank you for holding such a generous and joyful space.”
